Places to visit in Kedarnath
Tungnath and Chandrashila TrekTemple
Tungnath, village in Uttarakhand, is known as the starting point of the popular Chopta Chadrashila Trek. At a height of 2680m, this village is surrounded by evergreen forests of pine, deodar. This is one of the easier treks in the Himalayan region and hence, recommended for first-timers. This Tungnath temple and Chandrashila peak award you with a 360 degree, mesmerizing view of the valleys below. The peaks of Panchchuli, Nanda Devi, Nilkanth, and Kedarnath are all covered during the trek. The trek covers a large region, starting from Haridwar and ending at Chandrashila.
Vasuki Tal
It is an 8km trek from Kedarnath and a 24km trek from the nearest road head at Gaurikund. The trek commences from Gaurikund, Hindu Believed that in this Taal Lord Vishnu Bath at the auspicious Raskhsa Bandhan Festival. Bhairavnath Temple or Bhairon Baba Mandir is situated south of the Kedarnath temple on the eastern hill of the lofty Himalayas of Uttarakhand. Lord Bhairav is believed to be the main gana of Lord Shiva and this temple is the most important temple. Pilgrim and devoters who visit the Kedarnath temple also pay faith as the Bhairavnath Temple as per the ritual. This temple is also known as Kshetrapal or the guardian of the region has a Trishul for a weapon and a dog as his vehicle.
