The fort is situated 410 feet (125 m) above the city and is enclosed by imposing thick walls. The fort has seven gates, a number of temples, palaces and many other structures. The seven gates include Jai Pol, Fateh Pol, Lakhna Pol or Dedh Kangra Pol, Amrita Pol, Loha Pol, and Suraj Pol. All gates are built for a different purpose. Rao Jodha constructed many palaces inside the fort. Many features were added to the palaces by the rulers who came after Rao Jodha. The staircase of the palaces was narrow, the walls were decorated, and the windows have stained glasses. The height of the walls is 36m and width is 21m. The famous palaces in Mehrangarh Fort are Sheesh Mahal, it is different from the ones constructed by the Mughals in their forts. The palace has large and regular pieces of mirrors along with the figures of religious deities that are imposed over the mirror work. Due to the presence of the images of deities, the sheesh mahal was used as a private temple, the Phool Mahal, it was constructed by Abhay Singh who ruled from 1730 to 1750. The gold used during the construction of the palace was the war booty which the king got by defeating Sarbuland Khan, a governor of the Mughals. Takhat Vilas, Maharaja Takhat Singh built the Takhat Vilas Palace. Moti Mahal or Pearl Palace is considered as the biggest palace of the fort. Other palace are Khabka Mahal, Jhanki Mahal, Moti Vilas, Sardar Vilas, Umaid Vilas. Many temples were constructed in the fort by different kings during their reign. Some of these temples are as The Chamunda Mataji Temple, Nagnechiji Temple, Jaswant Thada Cenotaph. It is a must-visit place for tourists.

 2. Umaid Bhawan Palace 
Umaid Bhawan Palace, is one of the world's largest private residences. The construction of Umaid Bhawan Palace was started in the year of 1929 till 1943. Umaid Bhawan Palace was suitated in the highest point in the city. It is named after the Maharaja Umaid Singh, he was the grandfather of the present owner Gaj Singh. Umaid Bhawan Palace, is one of the world's largest private residences. The Palace is divided into three functional parts – the residence of the royal family, a luxury Taj Palace Hotel, and a Museum focusing on the 20th-century history of the Jodhpur Royal Family. A part of the palace is managed by Taj Hotels.
 3. Jaswant Thanda 
Jaswant Thanda was built by Maharaja Sardar of Jodhpur in memory of his father, Maharaja  Jaswant Singh in 1899 and it is serve as the cremation ground for the royal family of Marwar. The mausoleum is built out of intricately carved sheets of marble. These sheets are extremely thin and polished so that they emit a warm glow when illuminated by the sun. The cenotaph's grounds feature carved gazebo, a tiered garden, and a small lake. There are three other cenotaphs in the grounds. The cenotaph of Maharaja Jaswant Singh displays portraits of the rulers and Maharajas of Jodhpur.
 4. Ghanta Ghar 
Ghanta Ghar, also known as the clock tower of Rajasthan, is in the Indian city of Jodhpur. The eye-catching clock tower built almost a century ago stands to this day as a prominent landmark in Jodhpur.It was built by Maharaja Sardar Singh from whom the market takes it name.
