Shinde Chhatri is a memorial dedicated to eighteenth-century military leader Mahadaji Shinde who served as the commander-in-chief in Maratha army from 1760 to 1780. It is the most significant landmark in the city as it projects an intriguing look at the spectacular history, representing the rich cultural heritage of that time. The royal gate made of solid iron remains intact to this day.
